Is hunger your only motivation for food? There are many things which can make you think about eating. Unfortunately, these motivations are not only for maintenance, nourishment, or taking care of your healthy diet plan. If you find that those are not the only motivations for you to eat, I think that it is the time for you to figure out the problem. Emotion may be one of these other motivations. If it is, don`t worry, there are many solutions to avoid this type of eating.

There are some identifying signs concerning emotional eating. You have to avoid these features, or they will result in gaining some weight and making you unable to live a healthy life. Emotional eaters usually eat when they feel disappointed, stresses, or angry. Boredom can also be considered one of the strongest causes of overeating and it can cause emotional eating.
There are other signs and features of emotional eating. Some people, for example, once they arrive at home, they immediately head for the fridge, even without realizing. Others don`t feel it easy to share or talk about emotions with other people. They replace talking with eating.
If you doubt that you are facing this problem, start checking your feeling and try to find those ones relating to the problem. Observe your feelings and actions while eating and try to be more conscious at these times.
Stay conscious all the time
Track the times and the amounts you eat. Eating you`re not hungry, while avoiding stressful things, or even eating very quickly. These are all characteristics of the emotional eating. If you observed that you are easting at any of these conditions, step away from any place containing food. Go anywhere else till you feel good, allowing your emotions to relax.
Abandon all of your old bad habits. Such as eating something once you arrive home after work. Observing these habits is the first step to stop them. And being conscious at the first place is the way to observe them and stop being controlled over by emotions.
